What Makes Wild Mushrooms Special?
Unlike cultivated mushrooms that are grown under controlled conditions, wild mushrooms grow naturally in forests and other native environments.
Their flavor and availability can vary depending on:
• Weather
• Growing conditions
• Location
• Elevation
• Time of year
• Annual harvest conditions
That natural variation is part of what makes wild mushrooms so interesting.

🧼 HOW SHOULD I CLEAN WILD MUSHROOMS?
Wild mushrooms can naturally have dirt, forest debris or other material on them.
For fresh mushrooms:
1. Inspect each mushroom.
2. Brush away loose dirt with a soft brush or cloth.
3. Trim any undesirable portions.
4. If necessary, briefly rinse them.
5. Dry thoroughly before cooking.
Avoid soaking mushrooms for extended periods.
Tip: Mushrooms brown much better when excess moisture has been removed.

📅 WHY ARE WILD MUSHROOMS SEASONAL?
Wild mushrooms depend on natural growing conditions.
Rainfall, temperature, soil conditions and other environmental factors can all affect when mushrooms appear and how much is available. That's why you may see a particular mushroom available one week and unavailable the next.
When they're here, they're here.
