Our travels to provide the healthiest wild foods have taken us to Alaska many times over the years. I spent the better part of 20 years commercial salmon fishing in Alaska but never ran across the kind of wild salmon worthy of our customer’s health and concern for true wild seafood. Now, finally, we have what we believe you will find to be some of the finest of wild salmon.
To achieve this result we have developed a significant working relationship with a native Alaskan people whose goal, like ours, is to provide the world’s finest wild salmon. Just as we believe in sustaining our wild berry and mushroom harvest fields and locations, the Yupik People of the Yukon River Delta provide subsistence fishing not just for themselves but also have come to develop outside markets for the abundant wild salmon of “The Great River”. Northwest Wild Foods is one of the benefactors in the Yupik people’s marketing efforts which came about through the establishment of Kwik’pak Fisheries, a community based business formed by six local native Alaska villages..
